Who We Are

We are an all-volunteer committee that has developed plans to raise funds to dedicate a Hershel "Woody" Williams Medal of Honor Foundations Gold Star Families Memorial Monument in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. The monument will be located on the grounds of Augusta County Public Schools, directly across from Valley Career and Technical Center, 49 Hornet Road, Fishersville, Virginia 22939. The historic site is the location of the former Woodrow Wilson General Hospital, one of several federal government projects constructed after the outbreak of World War II to care for thousands of returning, suffering soldiers.

How We Work

We will put our plan into action for the installation and dedication of the monument once our fundraising goals are achieved. All donations are deposited into a Gold Star Families Memorial Bank Account established by the American Legion Post 188, 350 Waterman Drive, Harrisonburg, Virginia 22802. The Post is a Federal Nonprofit 501c3 Organization Tax ID #54-1492414. Make sure that you sign up for our newsletter so that you can keep up to date on our progress.
